David and Lisa Sumner along with their two children Mykala and Jack cherish the way of life that their 7 acre smallholding offers. The smallholding is located in Field Broughton (close to Cartmel) in south Cumbria and is home to a variety of animals including (but not limited too!) Pygmy Goats, Saddleback Pigs, Jacob sheep, Welsummer hens, Bronze Turkey, Mini lop and Netherlands Dwarf Rabbits.

We have a litter of 7 Mini Lop cross Netherland Dwarf. (After the little escape astist Ozzie escaped from his run to frolic in the garden with Jack's rabbit Daffodil...)
Both parents are very friendly and easy to handle.
All the babies have been well handled and are currently living outside....

On the 1st of June Rosie our Saddleback sow delivered 12 little piglets... and the're all thriving!
Then on the 5th one of our pygmy goats (Ali) delivered a very tiny little female kid. We believe that she was upto 2 weeks premature - she spent the first 3 days under a heat lamp...
Bronze Turkeys have arrived

We are very pleased to now have a breeding pair of Bronze Turkeys. They have settled in well, the female has started to lay already and all the other animals are getting used to the strange sight and sound of them!
Rabbits re-homed

It has taken some time but I am very pleased to say that all the rabbits that we rescued have all found wonderful homes with caring owners who'll offer them shelter, good food and freedom to run - just what they deserve!

Well thats all the sheep lambed,and a great season it was we ended up with 27 lambs.
